To honour the 100th anniversary of the birth of Verner Panton, &Tradition introduces a Flowerpot lamp that celebrates the form beneath the iconic design. Known for his playful approach to colour and form, Verner Panton’s work transformed the Danish furniture and lighting industry. Experimenting with shape, material and colour in revolutionary ways, his forward-thinking approach ensured his work remains strikingly relevant to this day.
Designed in 1968, the Flowerpot lamp has been reintroduced in a wide range of colours, sizes, and configurations throughout the years in close collaboration with Verner Panton Design AG. To celebrate what would have been Verner Panton’s 100th birthday in 2026, the VP1 model is presented in its most elemental expression — Pewter. Revealing a purity of form, the Anniversary Edition places an emphasis on the lamp’s domed silhouette. Removing all but the essential, the pendant is crafted from untreated stainless steel. The result reveals a subtly flecked surface quality created by the double stone-tumbling process applied to each shade. To further accentuate the significance of the edition, Verner Panton’s signature has been engraved on the underside of every upper shade. To align with &Tradition’s ongoing commitment to circular design principles, the Anniversary Edition is constructed entirely without glue, enabling easy repair and disassembly at the end of its life. The total number of Flowerpot models in the family comes to nine, including four chandelier formations, and a combined colour offering.
