EK61 Opal Pendant, oiled oak

The EK61 Opal pendant, designed in 1961 but never put into production, is now launched in glass and wood. Designed by Esben Klint, son of prominent Danish designer Kaare Klint, the elegant and understated pendant was originally intended to be made of pleated plastic. But as the design was too complicated to put into production at the time, it remained in the family archives - until today. The modern version has a pleated, elliptical shape and is made of opal mouth-blown glass. The characteristic oak details, reminiscent of traditional Chinese lanterns, are carefully turned and polished by hand to create a classic look. Available in three sizes, EK61 emits a soft, indirect light thanks to the carefully considered combination of classic materials.
